An idea for a Zombie RPG I never finished, but wow what was I on when I wrote this thing lol?
Zombie RPG
You start out as a singular zombie brought out of the grave in the dead of night by an unknown source. As you rise up you are greeted by a ghostly figure. It shifts form from male to female, young to old, and sometimes not even human as it speaks with a voice that sounds like 1000 voices talking at once. It calls itself “The Guide” and explains that you hold inside you the key to saving the world. You learn that within your veins flows an infection that needs to be spread throughout every human on earth, to end the greatest accident in the history of the planet, Mankind.
The infection is spread through any exchange of fluid so bites, spraying blood or bile or similar will cause it to be transferred to the target. The infection causes you to gain a small amount of control over the subject, whilst causing them to slowly rot, and hunger for blood, to enable further spreading. “The Guide” informs you that, as the carrier, you won’t be affected by the infection, but you will need to collect various body parts from certain types of humans to boost your abilities.
Eating the brains or hearts of athletic humans will increase your bodies resistance to damage, whereas eating the smarter, but more unfit humans organs will cause higher intelligence, allowing you access to powerful, supernatural abilities that will grow over time. You can also find certain special organs across the world that will increase specific stats, and these are usually obtained from celebrities, whatever their specialist field may be. Eating the organs of regular humans will keep your health or SP (Supernatural Power) topped up. Levelling up will be caused after infecting a selected amount of people per level. Obtaining a level up will give you a set amount of points to apply to your other minor stats, Communication (Ability to effectively communicate with humans), Charm (Determines your success at interacting with the general public – Higher charm means less chance of a panic when you enter an area), Dexterity (Higher dexterity means your limbs will last longer, if removed, new limbs will be accepted by the body faster) and Infection (The higher the stat, the faster the infection will take over the targets).
The Guide informs you that there are various guides in graveyards around the world that will help you progress through the cities, towns and villages and will offer you various quests and missions along the way. There will also be humans who will have heard about you and will try to offer you rewards for your help in return, but to not waste time with these (This will contribute to the multiple endings available, and your personality alignment). Throughout the game, you can make various choices which will affect the ultimate outcome, will the world end, will the humans win, will the zombies decide to live mutually, or will it be left to a greater power to decide the fate of mankind?
You quickly learn of a plot to end the zombie plague you have started, as an institute of science in America have discovered an anti-viral which could end the infection, so it becomes your mission to get there and destroy it. On your journey to the institution you learn that there have been various illnesses and diseases before that were designed to end mankind, such as the Black Death, AID’s and even the common cold. A sordid history of extermination begins to come clear as you meet various humans who have been researching the phenomena.
It turns out that The Guide at the start of the game is a part of a greater being, as are all the other guides, bent on the destruction of mankind, however unable to step into the physical world, is only able to manipulate the souls of the dead. Banished into a half life, trapped between worlds by its own race, the being has engineered various virus’s to flood into the world and destroy every living thing. It came from a race of highly advanced humanoids, far before the dinosaurs roamed the earth, and was sealed into limbo by its brothers and sisters, as punishment for trying to alter the fates of the planet
I think I got bitten at this point as it just ends here. Who knows, could this be the next biggest game of all time, I am thinking no :D
